Let's end Gender-Based violence through Cyberspace - Women's Day 2022 with United Nation (UN)

On March 2022, Sanjana Rathi, CEO of The CyberDiplomat, mentioned the importance of the participation of women in cybersecurity at UN Cyber. Sanjana Rathi highlighted the harmful use of technology and noted that Gender-Based Violence is one of the worst forms of human rights abuse that concerns society. Therefore, women's participation in preventing and countering cybercrime is not a 'luxury' but a necessity!

To the question: Why is it important to ensure women's participation in the prevention and countering of cybercrime? Sanjana answered,

The argument favoring more women's participation in the prevention and countering of cybercrime is not about right vs. wrong or men vs. women. Women are most vulnerable to gender-based violence facilitated online and offline. Gender-Based Violence is one of the worst forms of human rights abuse that concerns society. Therefore, women's participation in the prevention and countering of cybercrime is not a 'luxury,' but a necessity! Through more women participation in cybersecurity, we embrace diversity in perspectives, leadership, and experience and re-enforces the feminist qualities that are much needed today, especially in the cyber-domain.

The CyberDiplomat in it's partnership with Citizenry Cybersuraksha Assocation will strengthen "Sheshakt", the initiative to strengthen women's participation in cybersecurity and technology proliferation.
