In March 2026, The CyberDiplomat signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Aerospace Power and Strategic Studies (CAPSS), New Delhi, to collaborate on research in cybersecurity. We are proud to partner with one of India’s respected strategic think tanks on the questions that will shape national security in the years ahead.
Why this partnership matters
Air, space and cyberspace are now closely linked. Modern aircraft, satellites, drones and air-defence networks all depend on software, data links and supply chains that can be targeted in cyberspace. Decisions about how to defend them sit at the intersection of technology, strategy and diplomacy. CAPSS brings deep expertise in aerospace power and strategic studies. The CyberDiplomat brings practical experience in cybersecurity, governance, risk and compliance, and cyberdiplomacy. Together we can take on research questions that neither could address as well alone.
Security in the air and in space increasingly depends on security in cyberspace. This partnership brings those conversations together.
Areas of interest
The collaboration focuses on research in cybersecurity. Areas of shared interest include:
- Drones and counter-drone technologies: the cybersecurity of UAV ecosystems, including signal jamming and spoofing, drone hijacking and the security of autonomous systems.
- Critical infrastructure protection: how aerospace and defence systems, and the civilian infrastructure around them, can be made more resilient to cyber threats.
- AI and emerging technologies: the security, governance and ethical questions raised by AI-enabled and autonomous systems.
- Cyber norms and international cooperation: how states can build trust, share information and agree on responsible behaviour in cyberspace.
- Capacity building: sharing knowledge through dialogue, publications and joint engagement with policymakers, the armed forces, industry and academia.
Looking ahead
This MoU is the start of a long-term collaboration. We look forward to working with the CAPSS team on research, dialogue and joint initiatives that strengthen India’s understanding of cyber risk across the aerospace and strategic domains, and to sharing the results with the wider community.
